Bass superstar to Phish Mike Gordon continues his wildly popular 2026 Spring Tour with a gig at The Orange Peel, located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina on Tuesday 17th March 2026. Doors open at 7:00 PM; showtime 8:00 PM.
Gordon is back with his new album Flying Games, released earlier this year in 2023. Still creating new improvisational rock music, the same genre that was nominated for two Grammy’s and won him multiple Jammy Awards. The crowd numbers were estimated to be just as large as for his popular songs “Yarmouth Road” and “Dig Further Down.”

Mike Gordon is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist known for his work with the jam band Phish as well as his own critically acclaimed solo albums. His music is characterized by highly developed improvisational skills, eclectic eclecticism and creative song structures that often incorporate unusual time signatures. As a bassist, Gordon has developed a highly personal and expressive playing style that often leaves audiences slack-jawed in amazement. The guy can get down and groove out with the best of them while also displaying the most unusual bass playing one could ever hope to see.
This show is part of Mike’s multi-week spring tour that will see him visit Woodstock, Asbury Park, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Charleston, Washington DC, Brooklyn, Boston, Portland, Burlington and many more cities throughout the eastern United States. Come join Mike and enjoy an evening of epic improvisational rock music with Mike and hundreds of other fans in this fun friendly 18+ show. $50 and up.
Music of Mike Gordon – Bassist & Singer-Songwriter for Phish Every show features the music of Mike Gordon, bassist, composer and vocalist for the rock band Phish. Songs such as “Yarmouth Road,” “Dig Further Down,” “Tiny Little World” and more are just a few examples of his vast music library. His newest solo album “Flying Games” (2023) may also be included in this show.
In addition to touring with Phish for nearly 40 years, Gordon was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance (2001), won a Jammy Award for Album of the Year for “Sixty Six Steps” (2006), and received a Jammy Lifetime Achievement Award with Phish. Gordon was also honored with several audience awards for his documentaries “Rising Low” and “Outside Out”. Come and witness the incredible improvisational skills of this legendary bassist.
