The Gor Gor Strikes Back

Get ready for an intense evening of heavy metal as GWAR, Soulfly and King Parrot descend upon The Orange Peel in central Asheville, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026. The doors will open at 6:30 pm before the fight begins at 7:30 pm. This adult event is part of GWAR's The Gor Gor Strikes Back tour, which tears through cities from Richmond to Charlotte between March 19th and April 29th, 2026. The experience will drop you into intense shock rock with thrash music that has a groovy rhythm and grindcore that maintains constant intensity. 

GWAR

The stage performance of GWAR will present their signature extreme chaos which combines with science fiction. Created by Richmond art students in 1984, this entity has shifted over 820,000 records in the US and received two Grammy nominations. 

Soulfly

Soulfly injects Max Cavalera's distinctive of groove metal and Brazilian elements to the bill. You'll thrill to classics like "Jumpdafuckup" and tracks from their brand-new 2025 album, Chama. Soulfly emerged from Phoenix in 1997 after Cavalera left Sepultura to become a band which has since released 13 studio albums and achieved RIAA gold status for their debut album. 

King Parrot

The Australian grindcore band King Parrot brought their intense musical style to Melbourne when they formed in 2010. The album presents their fast-paced thrash with grind and hardcore-punk in "Bite Your Head Off". The band has progressed through their 2025 release of A Young Persons' Guide to King Parrot. The band received a nomination for Metal Hammer's Golden God Award Best New Band category.

The Orange Peel Information

Located at 101 Biltmore Ave in central Asheville, The Orange Peel delivers you state-of-the-art sound and lighting in a venue Rolling Stone declared one of the best five rock clubs nationally in 2008.
